Selena Gomez paired her marquise engagement ring with a Rich Girl fur coat and her favorite $120 Banana Republic jeans

From personal experience, choosing your engagement outfit (because let’s face it, we always know it’s coming) is one of the most stressful decisions in the wedding process. Since the official engagement shoot usually doesn’t take place until months later, this is the look to start your engagement with. Your outfit should of course be stylish, but also have a romantic touch appropriate to the occasion – and the newly engaged Selena Gomez mastered this challenge wonderfully.

Last night, the pop star had her “I said yes” moment with her boyfriend – now fiancé – Benny Blanco. She posted pictures of the (large) marquise diamond engagement ring as well as the fit she wore to accept it. Photos show Gomez sitting on a lawn surrounded by cozy blankets and Taco Bell (seriously, zoom in). For the evening picnic, she chose a shaggy fur coat in a luxurious sandy tone with massive statement shoulders.

Below, the “Single Soon” singer wore her favorite light wash jeans – wide-leg pants from Banana Republic. The $120 denim was a favorite of Gomez’s this fall. She wore them back in October, paired with a black leather belt and a blazer-style wrap top. However, she took a more casual approach to her engagement and paired the shoes with white high-top sneakers instead of high-tops.

Underneath all that fur, that Just murders in the building Star wore a fluffy black sweater. Blanco, on the other hand, was dressed in his usual combination of quirky colors. He wore a pink striped button-down shirt over a long-sleeve waffle T-shirt in sage green.

Blanco proposed with a massive marquise diamond (four or five carats, I guess) on a sparkling white gold pavé band. Gomez conveniently opted for the perfect engagement manicure, debuting a simple clear polish that matched her new sparkler.
