Severe thunderstorms are producing tornado warnings for counties in the greater Houston area

The KPRC 2 weather team continues to track and monitor multiple tornado warnings as of 10:30 a.m

As of this afternoon at 2:00 p.m., all tornado warnings for our region have expired. However, Brazos, Grimes, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Washington, Burlson, Madison and Walker counties remain under a tornado warning until 5 p.m

As of 3:15 p.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed seven tornado reports across Southeast Texas, with at least four tornado tracks identified in Waller, Montgomery (Porter Heights), Liberty, Brazoria and Galveston counties. Hail was also reported during these storms.

People living in this area must seek shelter indoors on lower floors and windows. People must seek shelter indoors and on the lowest floors, staying away from windows.

We will continue to see temperatures in the 70s and finally start to dry out towards the end of the weekend. Things are looking good for plans for New Year’s Eve on Tuesday evening. NYD, we start 2025 in the 60s with lows in the 40s.
