Parker, who ran 10 times for 58 yards in the first three quarters, topped that total with one run when he ran 62 yards for a touchdown that gave Shaw a 21-17 lead with 8:59 to play.

On the next play from scrimmage, Shaw sophomore Tahj Turner recovered a fumble on a pitch from quarterback ED White, setting up quarterback Mason Wilson for his second touchdown pass to Jacob Washington, whose diving catch was in the End zone brought the score to 28-17.

After ED White (11-3) scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion to bring the game to three points, Shaw sealed the game with a drive that shaved off the remaining 3:47.

Parker, who finished the game with 174 yards on 19 carries, broke off for a 29-yard run and then converted on a third-and-5. Wilson completed 10 of 19 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 16 times for 88 yards and a score.

Washington caught seven passes for 95 yards in the first half, including a 35-yard reception for a touchdown that made the score 14-1 with seven seconds left.

The six-play scoring drive spanned 67 yards, lasted 42 seconds and included two more passes of 9 and 11 yards to Washington, who went out of bounds with 14 seconds left to set up the game-winning touchdown play.

ED White, running option plays in the double-slot formation, scored touchdown drives of 89 and 80 yards in the first half for a 14-7 lead. Both scoring opportunities included two long wins on pitch outs for junior Landon Babin and senior Benjamin Guidry.

The Cardinals had a chance to take a two-score lead late in the first half, but punted less than a minute before halftime, setting up Shaw for his last-minute touchdown that tied the score.

Marshall-signed kicker Ty Powell from ED White knocked down a 47-yard field goal attempt early in the second quarter.

Junior quarterback Grant Barbera completed 12 of 17 passes for 133 yards and rushed 16 times for 40 yards and a score for ED White, a state finalist for the second time in the last four seasons. However, because it won two consecutive times in the late 1960s, it remained without a state championship.
