Shedeur Sanders threw the first few of perhaps hundreds of passes to Malik Nabers.

Sanders, the potential No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Nabers, the Giants’ standout rookie receiver, played catch on the streets of New York on Friday while cameras documenting Sanders’ every move filmed them.

Nabers was accompanied by his closest friend on the Giants – defensive back Isaiah Simmons – as they met in town with Sanders, who is in town for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.

Sanders isn’t a finalist, but his Colorado teammate and close friend – two-way standout Travis Hunter – is the favorite.

A separate video shows Sanders in an elevator, holding a football with the Giants logo.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Giants (2-11) have an NFL-best 41 percent odds to secure the No. 1 seed.

The Raiders have the same record but have an easier schedule down the stretch, which could result in a win, while the Giants are heading toward a franchise-record 12-game losing streak to end the season.

Nabers said earlier this week that he has no personal relationship with Sanders, but that they once competed against each other in the 7-on-7 tournament final of a soccer camp hosted by Deion Sanders (Shedeur’s father).

That was before they achieved college stardom at LSU and Colorado, respectively.

The Giants have no quarterbacks under contract for next season but have exclusive rights to Tommy DeVito, who will face the Ravens for the second time this season on Sunday.

Drew Lock and Tim Boyle are free agents, and the released Daniel Jones will account for $22.2 million in dead salary cap space.

When asked about the future of the Giants’ quarterback position after firing Jones, Nabers said, “I just want the ball. As long as you can give me the ball, I’m fine.”

Sanders had no problem providing Hunter with 92 catches, 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns in his season.

Miami’s Cam Ward – Sanders’ competition for the first quarterback drafted – is a Heisman finalist and praised Nabers during Friday’s media release.

“A player who wins 50/50 balls, wins against man coverage, knows the weak spots in zones,” Ward said. “He will only make me better if I get the chance to play with him. He’s a No. 1 receiver for a reason.”
