Spartanburg warning lifted. 8:00 a.m.: Spartanburg County is under a tornado warning until 8:30 a.m.: Greenville County warning lifted. 7:55 a.m. Tornado warnings in Greenville County, Spartanburg County until 8:30 a.m. Update as of 7:30 a.m.: All tornado warnings have expired, but the area remains under a tornado watch. In the Upstate, the following counties are under observation: Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Chester, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, Union, York. In Georgia: Elbert, Habersham, Hart, Rabun, Stephens. In North Carolina: Alexander, Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, Davie, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Union, Burke, Polk, Rutherford. Current warnings in your region HERE. Rain and storms will continue through the morning and early afternoon and could bring damaging winds, localized flooding and isolated tornadoes. Tornado Warning Meaning: Tornadoes are possible in and near the observation area. Review and discuss your emergency plans and check supplies and your safe space. Be prepared to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching. Early action helps save lives! Watches are issued by the Storm Prediction Center for counties where tornadoes may occur. The surveillance area is typically large, covering numerous counties or even states. Tornado warning means: A tornado has been spotted or indicated by weather radar. There is imminent danger to life and property. Go to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are in an RV, vehicle or outdoors, find the nearest suitable shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Warnings typically cover a much smaller area (about the size of a city or small county) that may be affected by a tornado, identified by a forecaster on radar or by a trained observer/law enforcement officer observing the storm becomes. It will remain mostly clear and cool on Sunday night, but it will not be much colder than the temperatures already experienced over the last few days – lows around 40°C on Monday morning. On Monday it will dry out briefly behind the front again, highs in the mid 60s, lows in the 40s and mostly sunny.
