Steelers fans get extra motivation to ruin the Ravens’ home game

The Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the best fan bases in the NFL, and even on the road there never seems to be a shortage of terrible towels in the crowd. But against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16, challenging the crowd at M&T Bank Stadium will be no easy task.

While they will be thinking about facing the Ravens crowd, the Steelers are now under a little more pressure heading into the game. Thanks to Baltimore tight end Isaiah Likely, Flock Nation will be called upon to protect their home field. Something Steelers Nation refuses to allow.

“They don’t like us as much as we don’t like them,” Likely said of the Ravens vs. Steelers fans. “Just making a home game a home game is, in my opinion, the biggest thing that Flock Nation tries to preach every Sunday when we have a home game – or on Saturday. (I’m) getting used to it.”

A rivalry, especially those on the road, love nothing more than to ruin the home crowd’s day. The players on the field will do their part, but the fans now have the chance to do their part too.

Head coach Mike Tomlin, linebacker TJ Watt, quarterback Russell Wilson and many others throughout the organization have praised the fan base’s ability to travel. With a chance to win the AFC North and reclaim the crown from the Ravens, Steelers Nation has the motivation it needs.

Now that Likely is telling fans that it should remain a “home game,” the motivation for the Black and Gold seems to be a little higher.
