Steph Curry and Draymond Green are out for the Warriors vs. Rockets – NBC Sports Bay Area & California game

The Warriors will be without their two best veterans when they face the Houston Rockets in their first straight game on Thursday night at Chase Center.

According to the NBA injury report as of 8:30 p.m. ET, Steph Curry (knee) and Draymond Green (calf) are ruled out for Golden State’s game against the team that currently sits second in the Western Conference. Andrew Wiggins is listed as questionable with a right ankle injury.

After missing three games early in the 2024-25 NBA season with an ankle injury, Curry sat out the Warriors’ 105-101 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Nov. 27 because of bilateral knee tendonitis – and the same ailment will continue to keep him busy from Thursday’s game.

Curry played in Golden State’s next two games after the loss to OKC, scoring 23 and 24 points in losses to the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets, respectively.

“It can become a nuisance if you don’t take care of it,” Curry, 36, told reporters about his knee pain after his first game against the Suns. “Luckily Rick (Celebrini) did that.” I’ve been great at giving myself a protocol to stick to day in and day out, knowing it’s something I can get ahead of and that I can’t follow it all year round as is the plan.

“So, I don’t worry about it or worry about it at all. The deeper you get into your career, the more things come up and you just have to figure it out.”

Green, meanwhile, is dealing with tightness in his left calf and underwent an MRI on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury. He missed the Warriors’ loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday night and admitted on his podcast that the injury scares him.

“I’ll be 100 percent honest, I’m a little scared,” Green, 34, said of the injury. “But when I say that, I have confidence in our employees. I am confident that I can get ahead of this now because the smartest thing to do is to get infected immediately if I already have these symptoms.”

The Warriors’ two stars are battling Father Time, and it’s clear Golden State is handling their injuries carefully as the team prepares to face the Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves on consecutive nights.

But as losers of five straight games, the Warriors need Curry and Green on the court as often as possible.
