BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – ROUND ONE: The first round of storms passed through this morning, mostly lighter in magnitude. Then we will see nicer/drier weather in the afternoon, becoming mostly sunny and warm.

ROUND TWO

The second round of storms will last through Saturday morning and afternoon. However, the biggest threat comes when the cold front moves in Saturday evening.

HARD SCENARIO

Baton Rouge is at the extreme threshold of an elevated level three threat to a slight level two risk for Saturday night/night.

SERIOUS THREATS

All types of severe weather are possible with the cold front, although flooding is expected to be a slightly lower risk. The time is between 6:00 p.m. Saturday and 3:00 a.m. Sunday.

7 DAY RAIN

Our forecast rainfall amounts will be around an inch, give or take, over the next seven days.

ADVANCED FORECAST

Next week looks mostly calm and dry, with a small chance of rain Tuesday morning, but it will clear/dry out on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
