These thunderstorms can contain wind gusts in excess of 50 miles per hour, hail larger than an inch in diameter, and potentially damaging tornadoes. We may also see 1 to 3 inches of rain. These storms are expected to be strongest in the late afternoon and especially in the evening, but should weaken shortly after midnight. The weather will be better on Sunday, although we may have some patchy fog in the morning. It will be mostly sunny late Sunday morning and will become a bit cooler with high temperatures in the low 70s. The rest of the week looks pretty uneventful, although we will likely have a cold front moving through on New Year’s Eve, but that front will produce very little precipitation. Their forecast for New Year’s Eve assumes temperatures will be above 50°C in 2025. Temperatures will be slightly cooler through the end of the week and into next weekend.
