Nathan Filion’s Guy Gardner in the new Superman teaser
The Superman: Legacy teaser not only gave fans a glimpse of the new Superman, but also featured several other iconic DC heroes, with Nathan Fillion’s portrayal of Green Lantern Guy Gardner standing out. While Guy’s signature green beam from his Lantern ring catches the eye, it’s his overall look that has sparked the most conversation.
In a brief but memorable moment in the trailer, Fillion makes a brief but memorable appearance as an Earth-based Green Lantern. Fillion’s Guy sports his iconic hairstyle and uses his Green Lantern ring in a quick action shot, staying true to the depiction in the comic.

Internet users react to Filion’s Guy Gardner look
Reddit was abuzz with discussion about various characters featured in the trailer, aside from Superman and Guy Gardner, who nabbed a lead role. One Redditor wrote: “At least I’m glad DC is putting some faith in Green Lantern again.” A second user wrote: “He looks like a huge idiot. I love it.” A third user wrote: “Imo looks great! Also the little beam he made from his ring looks like we’re finally getting fire constructs on the big screen, but we’ll see!”
However, one Reddit user apparently wasn’t a fan of the look, writing: “Hot take: Fillion doesn’t look so good with the bowl cut. “I think they should have gone for more of the military cut he has now.” Meanwhile, another user wrote: “Holy shit they did it, they actually went for ‘The Bowl’…this is going to be the JLI/Super Buddies era isn’t it?” Guy (and the mix of silliness and heroism). from this run would kind of fit Gunn’s style).”
