Sydney Sweeney responds to comments about her body after bikini photos go viral

Sydney Sweeney has skillfully dismissed insults about her body on social media.

This weekend, the 27-year-old “Euphoria” star posted a video on Instagram with a montage of screenshots of the many unsavory comments internet trolls have made about her appearance.

“Whoever this person is, she has a terrible body,” one comment said, while someone else wrote that she looked “very stocky.”

Another person added: “Let’s be honest her body isn’t that incredible, I’m just saying…”

The actor seemed to have noticed a recent actor’s comments Daily Mail storyincluding photos of Sweeney lounging around in a bikini while enjoying some sun at her home in the Florida Keys.

In her Friday post, the “Immaculate” star then hit back at her haters by cutting out snippets of her training routine for her role as professional boxer Christy Martin in an untitled upcoming biopic.

In the footage, Sweeney can be seen picking up a giant tire, lifting weights, boxing and flexing her muscles. The biopic, which also stars Ben Foster and Katy O’Brian, has not yet announced a release date.

Sweeney’s over 23 million followers showed their support for the star’s response to her haters in the comments section, including her “Anyone But You” co-star Glen Powell.

“You’re such a badass. This movie will be (fire emoji),” Powell wrote.

Someone else commented: “Girl you look AMAZING. They all sound jealous.”

“Miserable, lost, deeply insecure people,” another person said of the naysayers.

In October, Sweeney gave fans their first look at her shocking transformation as Martin in the David Michôd-directed film.

“Over the past few months, I have been training intensively to bring to life the story of an incredible woman – a true champion who fought both inside and outside the ring,” she says wrote on Instagram alongside photos of her behind the scenes. “Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength and hope, and I am honored to follow in her footsteps and share her powerful story with all of you.”

In May, the Madame Web star gushed about the importance of portraying Martin on screen, noting that it was “physically and emotionally demanding.”

“Christy’s story is not an easy story, it is physically and emotionally demanding, there is a lot of weight to carry,” she says said Deadline at the time. “But I love challenging myself. Christy Martin not only legitimized female boxing, she also overcame gender stereotypes and fought against emotional, physical and financial abuse.”

Sweeney explained that she has “a passion for the fighting world” and explained, “I feel compelled to tell a story about a woman who has faced so much adversity and didn’t let it defeat her. It’s powerful and emotional.”
