Although the future of Yellowstone After Life Is a Promise aired, it remains unclear whether the Season 5 finale is intended to be a series finale, but it doesn’t quite manage all of the great qualities of one. Taylor Sheridan’s TV show seemingly ends with conclusions to most of the characters’ stories, which at first glance is a good thing. Under the surface, however any development in Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 14 lacks surprise and impact, This makes the hour quite forgettable despite its perceived importance not only to the neo-Western drama series but also to television history.

Since its premiere in 2018 Yellowstone has taken television by storm. The show has managed to attract a wide audience and keep them engaged. Critics and viewers alike were thrilled Yellowstone and often gave Sheridan his flowers for writing such a gripping story about a complex family that owns the largest ranch in Montana. The Yellowstone season 5 finale is predictable from start to finish

The final episode of the series contains little to no surprises

Following the painfully uneventful Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 13, many had the same predictions about what would happen in the finale: Beth would kill Jamie, Rip would dispose of his body, and Kayce would sell the ranch to Chief Rainwater and the Broken Rock Reservation. Unfortunately for those hoping to be wrong and surprised: the events of Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 14 plays out exactly as expected.

Jamie’s death is overwhelming and disappointing

Beth kills Jamie (as everyone predicted)

Given the history of neo-Western drama and previous missions, someone had to die in the process Yellowstone Final. Jamie was the character that was at the top of everyone’s list in the final episode of the season. Since his death was expected, I hoped that Jamie’s death would at least be satisfying and impactful. Instead, Beth’s murder of her brother lacks intrigue and tension. For a character that was so important Yellowstone‘s story, Jamie’s death scene is disappointing (even though it should be one of the show’s greatest moments).

The best part of the final episode of Yellowstone is John’s funeral

Every Yellowstone The characters from Season 5, Part 2 (at least the ones who were close to John) get to say goodbye to John in the finale. As a result, John’s story seems to have finally found a proper ending. Now the family can leave Costner’s character and the ranch behind without looking back. If the majority of Yellowstone Since the Season 5 finale was similar to John’s funeral scene, the episode would have been much better.
