The Eras Tour may be over, but Taylor Swift’s era of record-breaking commercial dominance continues. Swift’s two-year, 149-show journey brought in more than $2 billion in ticket sales, according to New York Just reported on December 9th ($2,077,618,725 to be exact, but who’s counting?). That’s not just a record-breaking performance for a tour – that’s what it is double the previous high, than that Just pointed out when Coldplay spent $1 billion on its similarly lengthy “Music of the Spheres” tour over the summer. The Eras Tour sold 10,168,008 tickets, for an average ticket price of $204. That’s well above the 2023 industry average of $131, not to mention Coldplay’s figure. And remember, that’s $2 billion Only Tickets and does not include merchandise sales.

Well, she didn’t just pocket all the money. A large portion of that probably went toward touring, and Swift was reportedly generous with the rest. People reported that she paid her crew — from her band members and dancers to her physical therapists — $197 million in bonuses over the course of the tour. Still an era that won’t end so quickly? Swift’s billionaire era.
