Iowa Weather: Colder today, more chance of snow this week

IS A REMARKABLE THING. YOU CAN STILL GIVE. And as we continue today, we’re just noticing that the morning might be a little slippery in places. EXACTLY. Yes, the untreated surfaces that we will see, the slippery areas that we find ourselves in, cool us down. IT’S A COLDER DAY THAN YESTERDAY. MAYBE YESTERDAY. Got away with this lighter coat. NOT THIS MORNING AND NOT THIS AFTERNOON. We definitely feel it. The wind is increasing this evening. From Thursday evening to Friday morning. We are windy. STRETCH IS WHAT WE ENTER. NOT SO MUCH FOR TODAY. THEN STAY FOLLOWED FOR SOME MORE SNOW CHANCES as we continue throughout Thursday. CURRENT WIND SPEEDS APPROXIMATELY 6 TO 12 MPH. WE WILL CONTINUE WITH THIS WIND SPEED ALL DAY TODAY SO THAT THE ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURE WILL RISE TO CLOSE TO 30 DEGREES, BUT THIS WIND COOLING WILL BE A FACTOR THAT REDUCES THE ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURE. WILL. What will the temperatures be for the rest of today? Right now, most of us are hanging around in our teens when it comes to the chill of the wind, and that’s what it feels like outside in Algona even around three. THIS IS NOT THE AIR TEMPERATURE. Luckily we are leaving this behind us. It won’t be that cold here, but it’ll still be a pretty brutal start when it comes to how it feels outside. With the current winds the clouds are still lingering. Since these are very light clouds, they are eaten away pretty quickly, especially when the sun comes up. If we go hour by hour, the clouds will decrease as the morning progresses. There will be a few more clouds east of I-35 in the afternoon. BUT MOST OF US SEE THE SUNSHINE ALL MORNING. AND THEN CLOUDS MOVE IN AGAIN TONIGHT. SOUTH WINDS ALSO return. WE WILL BE WARMER ALL THURSDAY, EVEN IN THE MORNING HOURS, AND WILL NOTICE A WARMER DIFFERENCE. BUT THE WIND WILL BE QUITE WINDY, ESPECIALLY AS WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. BUT WE ALSO SEE THE SNOW COMING TOMORROW HERE IN THE METRO AND FURTHER SOUTH PARTICULARLY NORTHERN Iowa. There is not much chance for us to see that there is a chance of a precipitation outbreak starting as the rain turns to snow later this afternoon evening. BECAUSE THE COLD AIR WILL BEAM IN QUITE QUICKLY once the stronger northwesterly winds pick up Thursday evening. We head into Friday and are still holding on to the strong winds Friday morning. We should see the sun as we enter the afternoon on Friday. HERE IS THE POTENTIAL OF SNOW IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS. MORE FROM THURSDAY TO FRIDAY. So 48 hours, I should say. As for dusting, that’s exactly what our northern counties will experience. However, the lighter the accumulations are in northeast Iowa, the more they may be enough to result in some smooth surfaces in that direction. ACCORDING TO TODAY’S FORECAST, PRECIPITATION WILL INCREASE WITHOUT BEING ADVISED. The temperatures in the clouds simply don’t rise very much. LOW 30S TO MID 20S. Then we drop into our mid-twenties and then teenagers overnight. A LITTLE COLDER TONIGHT, FURTHER NORTH. This is the typical trend. And then as we get into Friday it will be cool again, after being warm and possibly snowy at times on Thursday, it will slowly pick up. TEMPERATURES OFFICIALLY START THE WINTER SEASON ON SATURDAY. I still feel like I’m in winter
