Tennessee Titans RB suffers head injury

The Tennessee Titans running backs have already lost Tony Pollard, but may have to lose another player to injury.

Titans sophomore running back Tyjae Spears, who started for Pollard in Week 17, left the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars to be evaluated for a concussion, according to team reporter Jim Wyatt.

Spears is making his second career start and first this season, while Pollard is out with an ankle injury. He performed well in Pollard’s absence, running the ball 20 times for 95 yards and catching three passes for eight yards from quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Spears himself struggled with injuries early in the season, so to see him go down again is a frustrating repeat in what has been a long and grueling year for the Titans.

With Spears on the sidelines, Julius Chestnut would be the next to make a run back up the Titans’ depth chart. However, while Spears was in the game, he still had to complete a carry. Joshua Kelley could also be available to work if needed.

The Titans trailed the Jaguars 13-10 early in the fourth quarter at rainy EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.
