The Washington Commanders are 10-5 after their 36-33 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. It is Washington’s third straight win and the Commanders ended Philadelphia’s 10-game winning streak.

The Eagles took a 14-0 lead and held it until the Commanders took their first lead nine minutes before the end of the game. The lead didn’t last long, however, as the Eagles kicked a field goal with 3:53 left to take the lead back 30-28.

Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels would have had another chance to win, but was intercepted, seemingly ending any chance of a win. However, the Commanders’ defense held firm and forced another field goal. The Eagles now led 33-28, but Daniels had two minutes to lead Washington to the victory.

Ultimately, he did just that, using his right arm and legs to play the game-winning drive. Daniels finished the day with five touchdowns, the most of his career, and led the Commanders with 81 rushing yards.

There is something special about this team. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin then explained the Commanders’ resilience.

“W“We never flinch, no matter what the score is,” McLaurin said. “What did we have? Four or five turnovers? And this is not our standard at all. We’ll clean this up. But winning this game, even though there were a lot of ups and downs, is a testament to the resilience and the culture we are building here.”

He’s right. Remember the “Hail, Mary?”

McLaurin’s statement that the team never backs down is a reflection of head coach Dan Quinn and what he has already built in a short amount of time.

Sunday was a special day for McLaurin. He scored his 12th touchdown of the season, tying Ricky Sanders for the most touchdowns in a single season in franchise history. He also recorded 1,000 yards receiving for the fifth consecutive time.
