Texas QB Quinn Ewers rocks Trump’s tie clip before College Football Playoff game

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers subtly let the world know where he stands politically ahead of the Longhorns’ showdown against Clemson in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

Ewers headed to the Texas stadium in a navy blue suit and red tie. On the tie was a small gold clip with the name “Trump” written on it.

Wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat would have driven people crazy, but Ewers’ decision to rock the tie clip was a gentle way for him to share his political stance before the biggest game of his career.

This isn’t the first time Ewers has shown his support for President-elect Donald Trump.

Shortly after Trump’s assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July, Ewers posted two photos of the president-elect on his Instagram. In one photo, Trump was seen holding up his fist as blood flowed from his ear, and in the other photo, Trump was seen on the cover of 50 Cent’s album “Get Rich or Die Tryin.”

After Trump won the presidential election in November, Ewers also shared a graphic of Trump and JD Vance on his Instagram Story with the caption “Legendary.”

The junior signal-caller led Texas to a 38-24 victory over Clemson on Saturday, throwing for 202 yards and a touchdown.

Next up for Ewers and the Longhorns is a date against Arizona State in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day. The winner of this contest will face the winner of the Ohio State-Oregon matchup.
