LANSING, MI – The holiday season just got a lot greener for a Powerball player in Michigan when he won a $1 million prize in the drawing on Monday, Dec. 23. The winner matched all five white numbers drawn – 22-42-44-57-64 – to win the $1 million prize.

The winning ticket was sold at the Shell gas station at 3839 S Lapeer Rd in Metamora. Metamora is about 25 miles southeast of Flint.

The winner now has one year from the drawing date to come forward and claim their prize. The winner is asked to contact the Michigan Lottery Player Relations Department at 1-844-917-6325 to schedule an appointment to claim their winnings.

The last Michigan player to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot was lottery club Breakfast Club, which won an $842 million jackpot in June 2024. The members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.

And while they were lucky winners, it’s wise for players to check their tickets immediately because a $1 million Mega Millions winner sold in Southfield in 2023 went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s school aid fund.
