While this is great because we watch endless hours of TV shows and movies, it can be a bit difficult to figure out what to watch. Luckily, Hulu has a collection of the 15 best shows and movies, giving you an insight into what’s trending on the platform.

There are also a lot of films to choose from in the top 10 this week. Unsurprisingly, Will Ferrell’s popular Christmas film “Elf” continues to dominate the list, but there are some new films this year too. Two films just hit the streaming service, including a film about escaping an underwater plane crash and a new horror film starring Hunter Schafer, and both are making the top 10.

So without further ado, here are the most worth-watching movies in Hulu’s top 15 right now. If you’re looking for more to watch, check out our guide to Hulu’s top series.

This is based on the 15 best Hulu movies and shows as of Thursday, December 19th.

BEST MOVIES IN THE HULU TOP 10

“Eleven” (2003)

In “Elf,” Will Ferrell plays Buddy, a human raised as one of their own by Santa’s elves. He came to the North Pole after crawling into Santa’s sack as a baby in an orphanage and always assuming he was just a big elf. One day, however, Papa Elf (Bob Newhart) informs Buddy that his biological parents are the humans Walter Hobbs (James Caan) and Susan Wells and that his mother gave him up for adoption shortly before his death.

So Buddy travels to New York City to meet his father, who runs a children’s book publishing company and has no idea that he has a son who thinks he’s an elf. Once Buddy is in NYC, shenanigans ensue in a classic fish-out-of-water comedy. If you haven’t seen it yet or haven’t seen it in a while, be sure to check out one of the most popular Christmas films of this century.

“No Way Up” (2024)

There are movies about airplane disasters and then there are thriller movies set in water. But No Way Up is both, and you’ll never leave your seatbelt unbuckled on a plane again after watching the trailer.

This survival thriller stars Sophie McIntosh as Ava, a politician’s daughter who travels to Cabo for a vacation with her boyfriend (Jeremias Amoore) and a few others. But the plane hits a bird in mid-flight and crashes into the Pacific Ocean, leaving the two stranded underwater. Luckily, Ava’s personal bodyguard Brandon (Colm Meaney) is also on board. Will he be enough help to get her to safety? Or will the arrival of a great white shark doom them all?

“A Sudden Fall of Christmas” (2024)

In “Cuckoo,” Hunter Schafer plays Gretchen, a teenager who moves to the German Alps with her father (Marton Csokas) and his family after her mother dies. Her father wants to build a new hotel owned by the mysterious Mr. King (Dan Stevens), but things quickly take a disturbing turn when guests start vomiting and her half-sister Alma (Mila Lieu) starts having seizures.

Critics’ reviews were mostly positive, but audience reviews were more mixed. Still, it seems like Schafer and Stevens are receiving near-universal praise for their performances, even if the film itself isn’t as coherent as it could be.
