A British teenage actor who starred alongside Tom Hiddleston has claimed he is currently homeless.

Jack Veal, 17, who portrayed young Loki in the 2021 Emmy-nominated Marvel series Loki, said he is now living in an “unsafe caravan” in London.

In a video posted to TikTok, Veal claimed that social services had refused to help him find housing and pleaded with viewers for support.

The young actor, who also starred in the Bafta-nominated series End of the F—ing World, said he suffers from various illnesses including autism and ADHD.

In the two-minute clip, he told viewers: “I can’t stay at my grandparents’ house because my grandfather isn’t well. I have nowhere else to go and I need help.

“Social services refuse to help me even though I told them so. I’m desperate.”

In the video, Veal pans the camera to show viewers the cramped living conditions in the van.

The camera shows a plastic bag for toiletries, a towel, a small mattress and a shelf with a handful of snacks.

He said he relied on a small portable power bank for power and that the windows were broken, providing little protection from the near-freezing winter temperatures at night.

The actor added: “I slept on the street. I’m currently sleeping in a caravan that has broken windows, is unsafe and is two hours from my work, meaning I struggle to get to work every day.

“It’s difficult. Life is hard. At the moment I have nothing else. I’m on my knees begging you to just share this, do something and spread the message about how the government treats children.

“I need help. Please share it, please share it with whoever you can. You don’t have to pay me anything, I don’t need anything. I just need you to make this as viral as possible.

“I’ll continue to put out a few more things, but please, I need help.”

Less than 24 hours after the original video, he announced that he had been granted a meeting with social services to help place him in foster care or permanent housing.

As his eyes fill with tears, Veal can be seen telling the camera: “I don’t know what you guys did, but it got out there and it really, really helped me and they’re taking action now. “

“They’re actually doing something, so God bless you all.”

He continued: “I’ll let you know how the meeting goes, and there are no promises, but it’s the first time they’ve considered me as a place to stay, so thank you, thank you very much.” I love you guys all.”
