The Bengals’ Cam Taylor-Britt tackles Russell Wilson and returns it 51 yards for the TD

CINCINNATI – A week after being substituted, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt opened the scoring against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday with a game-changing turnover.

Taylor-Britt intercepted a pass from Russell Wilson and returned it for a 51-yard touchdown, giving the Bengals a 7-0 lead with 11:49 left in the first quarter. Taylor-Britt ran into Steelers wide receiver George Pickens, who went down before the pass arrived. This gave Taylor-Britt the opportunity to catch the ball and return it for a goal.

It’s a remarkable moment for the embattled cornerback. After starting the season as the best option at the position, he fell down the rankings due to inconsistent play. Had cornerback DJ Turner not suffered a broken collarbone in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11, Taylor-Britt likely would have come off the bench on Sunday.

Instead, he scored big in a game the Bengals desperately need to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Wilson returned the favor on the ensuing possession, finding Pickens for a game-winning 17-yard touchdown.
