The Bengals keep their postseason hopes alive with a 24-6 victory over the Browns

It wasn’t exactly pretty, but the Bengals kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a 24-6 victory over the Browns on Sunday.

Receiver Ja’Marr Chase broke his own franchise record for receiving yards in a single season during the contest when Joe Burrow threw three touchdown passes.

Cincinnati led 17-0 at halftime on Burrow TDs to Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas. The Bengals scored their final touchdown with 1:44 left in the fourth quarter when Burrow connected with Chase for a 32-yard score.

Burrow finished the day 23 of 30 for 252 yards and lost a fumble. Chase caught six passes for 97 yards, giving him a season total of 1,510. His previous single-season franchise record was 1,455 – set in his rookie year in 2021.

On the other hand, Dorian Thompson-Robinson started his first game of the season and seemed overwhelmed. He finished the day 20 of 34 for 157 yards and two interceptions. He also ran for 49 yards on nine carries.

Jerome Ford had 92 yards on 11 carries with a 4-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

At 7:8, the Bengals will host the Broncos for an important duel on Saturday afternoon. Cincinnati needs Denver to have its best shot at the postseason and can do something about it next weekend.

The 3-12 Browns will continue play next week at home against the Dolphins.
