The Celtics’ Joe Mazzulla believes Jayson Tatum is being taken for granted in the NBA

The Boston Celtics have had to deal with many different media reports about Jayson Tatum over the past few years, many of which have been negative. This is despite the fact that Tatum was a first-team All-NBA player a year ago when the Celtics won their 18th NBA championship.

There was a lot of talk about whether or not Jaylen Brown was actually the best player on the team. Meanwhile, unlike Tatum, Brown was not selected for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, even though he didn’t consistently get big minutes. Both have tried to downplay the fact that the outside noise is bothering them in some way.

Tatum just continues to play great basketball. Most recently, he scored a triple-double with 43 points against the Chicago Bulls. His coach Joe Mazzulla believes Tatum doesn’t get enough credit from the rest of the league for being as good as he is on both ends of the court.

Here’s what Mazzulla said about Tatum, according to SB Nation’s Noa Dalzell. “Because he’s been doing great things for so long, I still think he’s taken for granted… because he’s been doing it for a long time and because it comes relatively easy to him, and we’re in Boston, so that’s how it is.” expectation.”

It’s pretty clear that Mazzulla is tired of people around the league not giving Tatum the credit he deserves. In Mazzulla’s eyes, he is clearly one of the top five players in the league, and he wants his player to get the right hype for it. For some reason, Tatum isn’t considered one of the best players in the league.

Pretty soon, Tatum will inevitably find himself in the MVP discussion if he continues to play at the level he is at. While he’s not currently the favorite to win the award, he’s definitely good enough to be named to the All-NBA first team again after the season ends.

The Celtics are one of the best teams in the entire NBA. All they care about is doing what it takes to win a second straight NBA title. It seems the only thing that can stop this team from achieving that goal is a series of injuries.

Staying healthy will be our top priority for the remainder of the season.
