The coroner rules Sherman Ryan’s death a homicide

Sherman Ryan apparently suffered injuries in a fight before he was discovered.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Lucas County Coroner’s Office has ruled the death of 42-year-old Sherman Ryan a homicide.

Ryan was found on the side of the road in the 800 block of Oak Street on Dec. 22 with injuries sustained in a reported altercation. He was taken to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on December 24 at 10:47 p.m

An autopsy conducted by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office on December 26 determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma and classified the manner of death as a homicide.

The investigation into Ryan’s death is ongoing.
