The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation donates more than  million to nonprofits in multiple states

  • Almost $2.4 million awarded to 171 non-profit organizations in Virginia
  • Grants will be awarded to 318 nonprofit organizations in six states
  • Funding supports human needs, environmental protection, education and community vitality

RICHMOND, Va., December 10, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation recently received more than one award 3 million dollars in grants to nonprofit organizations in several states.

Grant recipients will teach healthy eating and gardening to children in underserved communities, expand access to financial education services in rural communities, provide trauma-informed mental health services, expedite adoptions from foster care, rehabilitate native wildlife and expand day programs for older adults in need, increase access to affordable housing, Providing emergency shelter and supporting the arts, among other things, such as:

  • Friends of Hollywood Cemetery in Richmondwhich will strengthen environmental protection by planting trees in a 135 hectare urban green space
  • PathForward in Arlingtonwhich will improve access to healthcare services through its Mobile Medical Program
  • Virginia Peninsula Foodbank in Hamptonwhich runs the Food for Kids BackPack program to provide meals on weekends and extended school holidays

Funding is available to organizations in areas where Dominion Energy supplies electricity or natural gas or has significant business interests. This includes Virginia, South Carolinanortheast North Carolina, Connecticutand parts thereof West Virginia And Rhode Island.
