There are still four games left in the 2024 regular season, but the Eagles officially secured a playoff spot on Sunday.

The Eagles needed to win and then needed some help this weekend to punch their ticket to the postseason, and the final domino fell when the Cardinals lost to the Seahawks in the late afternoon game.

Heading into the weekend, there were a few different scenarios that would give the Eagles a spot in the playoffs. The result was an Eagles win + a Lions win + Falcons and Cardinals losses.

Nick Sirianni has now led the Eagles to four consecutive playoff appearances in his four years as head coach. He is the second coach in franchise history to field three teams with more than 11 wins in a row.

This is the first time the Eagles have reached the playoffs four years in a row since they were there five years in a row under Andy Reid from 2000-04. The Eagles also made it several times in a row under Dick Vermeil in the years 1978-1981.

The Eagles (11-2) are the fourth team to secure a playoff spot this year, joining the Lions, Chiefs and Bills. The Eagles still have a chance to clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but it looks more likely that they end up with the No. 2 seed.

Although the Eagles have not yet locked up the division, they hold a three-game lead over the second-place Commanders in the NFC East. The Eagles didn’t particularly win on Sunday, but they extended their winning streak to nine games.
