The fight for first place with the Raiders is on

The New York Giants and their fans are forced to accept the duality of life in the basement of the NFL.

Because their tenth loss in a row could also give the Giants a chance to secure the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. What this means for the regime of coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen remains to be seen. Owners John Mara and Steve Tisch only know the answer to that.

According to Tankathon.com, the Giants are currently projected to be the No. 1 seed, just ahead of the Las Vegas Raiders, who have a 2-12 record but would win the tiebreaker based on strength of game plan (SOS). .

Here’s the scenario in play now: The Raiders are favorites to win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a game that starts at 4:25 p.m., and if they win, Antonio Pierce’s team would drop out of the top spot .

If the Giants lose their final three games, they are guaranteed to go no worse than the No. 2 pick in next April’s draft.

If the Giants win in the next two weeks, they’ll have a group of five three-win teams (New England, Jacksonville, Carolina, Tennessee and Cleveland) lurking behind them that will ultimately push them all the way down to No. 7, depending on the tiebreaker situation could.

The Giants and Raiders are expected to be in the market for a quarterback, with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward currently considered the top two in the class of 2025.
