The Mega Millions jackpot increases to $695 million in Friday's drawing

The Mega Millions jackpot continues to rise.

After no one won it all on Tuesday, the jackpot was estimated at $670 million for the next drawing on Friday, according to the Mega Millions website. However, on Friday, the jackpot rose even further to an estimated $695 million with a cash option of $322 million.

It will be the eighth largest Mega Millions jackpot of all time and the 19th largest U.S. lottery jackpot (see lists below).

The jackpot was last won on September 10, when a lottery player in Texas won $810 million – the seventh largest Mega Million of all time.

Four tickets win big

While there was no jackpot winner, four tickets sold for Tuesday’s drawing won second-tier prizes by matching all five white balls.

A Florida ticket won $5 million on the Megaplier and a Maryland ticket was worth $1 million, while two California tickets earned $560,601 because the state applied its non-jackpot winnings to sales in its area of responsibility is established.

How do I play Mega Millions?

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Megaplier for $1, which increases the amount of your potential win to five times the original prize (excluding the jackpot).

Each player chooses five numbers from 1 to 70 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 25 for the mega ball. However, you can also have the lottery machine generate a random quick selection for you. You do not have to be a US citizen or a resident of a specific state in which you purchase your ticket.
