This holiday season, one lucky Mega Millions player could receive a late Christmas present of $1.15 billion after no one won the jackpot on Tuesday. Friday’s top prize has now risen to an estimated $1.15 billion – the highest prize ever offered in December. That’s $516.1 million if the winner chooses the cash option. It’s only the seventh time in the game’s history that the jackpot has topped $1 billion, the lottery said. The six awards won so far were in South Carolina in 2018, Michigan in 2021, Illinois in 2022, Maine and Florida in 2023, and New Jersey last March.
