The meltdown continues as mild air moves into West Michigan

WEST MICHIGAN – FOX 17 meteorologist Terri DeBoer’s forecast: The “meltdown” continues as mild air continues to pour into West Michigan. Temperatures will remain in the mid 40s from start to finish, well above our average highs in the upper 30s. A mix of clouds and sunshine will fill our skies, with light southerly winds. Much of the snow we collected over the last week will continue to disappear. Mild air will continue to hit the region on Monday, although a brief burst of colder air will return starting Tuesday night and continuing through the end of the week. Scattered lake-effect snow showers are likely during the middle to end of the week, although temperatures will rise back to highs near 40°C by the weekend. Longer-term forecast models show that we could rise back to the 40 mark by mid-December. At this point in time, the chances of a “white Christmas” are not particularly good.
