The monster drive for the second TD was perhaps the best of the season

GREEN BAY – It doesn’t get more methodical than 17 plays, 96 yards and eight minutes and 55 seconds in the first and second quarters.

Those were the numbers on the Packers’ second touchdown drive in Monday night’s 34-0 victory over the Saints, and they are season highs for Green Bay in all categories and represent the best yardage total of the year.

So it’s a pretty easy choice for Chevy Drive of the Week.

Things didn’t look great at first, as an incomplete pass and 4-yard run by RB Josh Jacobs set up third-and-6 from Green Bay’s own 8-yard line.

But the Saints jumped offside for third-and-1, and then TE Tucker Kraft got moving and slid under center to take advantage of the snap and move the chains.

From there, Jacobs gained 13 yards on a swing pass and then ran for three more yards. Then on third-and-7, QB Jordan Love hit WR Romeo Doubs over the middle for 15 yards for a first down near midfield.

After an 8-yard run by Jacobs, RB Emanuel Wilson was stopped a yard short on third-and-2, but Love made amends with a QB sneak on fourth-and-1. Four plays later, it was fourth down again, this time requiring 2 yards, and Love’s rollout to the left took Kraft deep downfield for a 21-yard gain.

That gave the Packers a first down in the red zone, and Jacobs took advantage, running 12 yards down to the 2-yard line and then punching it in for his team-leading 14th touchdown of the season. He also set the mark for most touchdowns by a Packers player in his first year with the team, and Green Bay led 14-0 early in the second quarter.
