The New York Jets are bolstering their defense in the latest three-round NFL mock draft

The New York Jets are 4-10 and have a season full of changes ahead of them.

For many, the 2025 NFL Draft is already the most exciting thing the future has to offer. There are a handful of needs the team needs to address, but fortunately this new class has plenty of interesting options to fill those gaps.

33rd Team’s James Foster recently did a three-round mock draft where the Jets prioritized building defense while there were still so many questions to be answered on offense.

Security is one of the biggest needs for New York next year, which provides context as to why Starks is such a popular choice for them in mocks.

The 21-year-old was a regular for the Bulldogs from day one and has been making plays ever since. He has six interceptions and 14 passes broken up in his career. He is best known for his highlight reel interceptions, but is actually a versatile defensive talent.

He is mostly a free safety, but can also play in the box or cover the slot. The versatility and tremendous potential will help him be a very early draft pick.

Given that the Jets need a lot of help at various spots in the secondary, he makes a lot of sense as a pick.

Although Aaron Rodgers’ future in New York is uncertain, in this mockery the Jets are opting to go with back-to-back defensive picks to begin the draft. However, given the brutal season the defense has had this year, it could be a smart move.

Harmon would be an interesting option as he could develop into a threat as both a pass rusher and a run defender.

He’s a huge man at center at 6-5, 310 pounds, but doesn’t sacrifice much of the athleticism needed to become a quarterback.

The redshirt junior has generated 52 pressures under center with five sacks this season.

By changing the offensive side, Prather would add the quarterback he ultimately has to work with to the personnel.

While the 22-year-old won’t be at the helm of the defense, he’s a strong presence who could take over the red zone role following the departure of Allen Lazard.

He has 56 catches for 624 yards and four touchdowns this season. This has been pretty consistent for him over the last few years.
