The Red Wings fall to the Avalanche and lose their fifth game in a row 1-2

The top line breathed some life into the Detroit Red Wings, but it wasn’t enough of a revitalization measure.

The Wings returned to Little Caesars Arena on Saturday after two road games and took on another pair next week against the Colorado Avalanche. Other opponent; Same result: a 2-1 defeat tonight.

It was the fifth straight game the Wings (10-13-2) lost by one goal and the seventh straight loss by one goal. They have only picked up two points in their last five games.

The Wings had given up an even score and a power play goal to the Avalanche when Lucas Raymond scored his 10th goal of the season to give the Wings a one-goal lead early in the third period.
