The teenage actor, best known for his role in the Atlanta-filmed film “Baby Driver,” has died in Alabama

“It breaks our hearts to share that Hudson Meek has gone home to be with Jesus tonight,” his family wrote on his Instagram account. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and made a significant impact on everyone he met.”

Meek’s breakthrough came in 2017 in the Atlanta-set action film, which starred Ansel Elgort, Lily James and Jamie Foxx. According to his IMDB profile, he also played Sirius in the film “The School Duel” and appeared in a number of TV shows including “Genius” and “Legacies.”

“Hudson was an exceptional young talent whose commitment, passion and promise shone brightly in our industry,” J Pervis Talent Agency, which represented Meek, wrote on social media.

“He contributed so much to the spirit of our agency over the past decade and his loss leaves a void that will be felt deeply by all of us,” the statement said. “Hudson was more than just a talent, he was a source of inspiration and touched so many lives with his enthusiasm, kindness, smile and innate ability to light up a room without ever meeting a stranger.”

According to his obituary, some of the films and television shows Meek has worked on will be released in 2025, but the projects were not named.

“He absolutely loved spending time on set and having the opportunity to learn the names and stories of each member of the cast and crew,” the obituary reads.

In addition to his acting career, Meek was also active in his church groups and was a member of the football team at Vestavia Hills High School, where he was a sophomore, according to his obituary.
