There’s a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia?!

With star quarterback Jalen out with a concussion and backup Kenny Pickett leaving the game today after a hard hit from Dallas Cowboys podcaster Micah Parsons, second-year quarterback Tanner McKee is now the man under center for the Philadelphia Eagles.

While many would expect a man who attempted zero (0) regular season NFL passes this weekend to struggle, McKee did the exact opposite. In less than two quarters of work, he has already completed 75% of his passes, half of which went for touchdowns.

McKee’s career numbers lead me to believe that if, for example, he had control of the offense for an entire game in the playoffs, he would set multiple single-game passing records and go down in NFL history as the greatest quarterback of all time. Just extrapolate 3-of-4 passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns over four quarters and you get… well, I’m not good at math, but you get a lot of, uh, everything.

Personally, I’m excited to see what everyone has to say in the postgame press conference and on WIP this week. A quarterback controversy has avoided Philly all season, but as we approach the final week of the year, it appears the Birds have been found.
