These “in-demand” musicians were the top sellers of tickets this year: StubHub

According to a newly released report from StubHub, this year was another big year for live events, with people snapping up tickets to various concerts and sporting events.

In its 2024 Year in Live Experiences report, the ticket marketplace reported that demand for live events was up a whopping 33% year-over-year.

While many big names are hosting music performances in 2024, data from cumulative global ticket sales across StubHub North America and viagogo showed that Taylor Swift and a handful of others had the most fans eager to attend their shows this year, according to StubHub.

According to StubHub, this year’s best-selling artists

1. Taylor Swift

Swift wrapped up “The Eras Tour” with three shows in Vancouver over the weekend. She said it was “the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense and challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life,” FOX Business previously reported.

Her hugely successful “Eras Tour” helped Swift become the world’s No. 1 touring act according to ticket marketplace StubHub for the second year in a row. StubHub users also searched for her name more often than any other artist on the platform in 2024.

According to StubHub, Swift played 116 events in 2024 through December 4th.

The singer-songwriter’s visit to Miami was her “best-selling stop of the year,” the ticket marketplace reported. Swift also reportedly bought more people from other countries there than any other city in the US where she played

The New York Times reported that “The Eras Tour” generated over $2 billion in ticket sales over nearly two years.

2. Zach Bryan

Ticket sales for Bryan’s performances made him the second most in-demand musician of 2024, according to StubHub.

The ticket marketplace reported 85 events for Bryan through Dec. 4, the third-highest number among this year’s “most in-demand” artists.

This year he went on “The Quittin’ Time Tour,” and his next show is scheduled for Thursday in Oklahoma.

The StubHub report also ranked Bryan #8 on its list of “Most In-Demand Global Experiences” for next year. This is also determined by ticket sales.

3. Adele

According to StubHub, in 2024, Adele saw fans from 134 countries buying tickets to her residencies in Las Vegas and Munich.

The final show of her “Weekends with Adele” residency in Las Vegas took place last month. Her stay in Munich lasted 10 days in the fall.

StubHub said her Las Vegas residency’s 10 shows “more than doubled her record-breaking 10 shows in Munich.”

The only artist with higher average ticket prices than Adele was Swift, the ticket marketplace also reported.

4. Olivia Rodrigo

Rodrigo, who has 94 events under her belt this year (as of December 4), is the fourth best-selling artist worldwide in 2024, according to StubHub.

The singer, known for songs like “Drivers License” and “Vampire,” kicked off her “Guts World Tour” in February. The first album it focuses on was released in September last year.

Rodrigo released a concert film about the “Guts” tour on Netflix in October.

In last year’s edition of “Year in Live Experiences,” StubHub listed it as one of the “Top Global Experiences” for 2024.

5. Morgan Wallen

StubHub identified Wallen, the country singer behind hits like “Last Night” and “Lies Lies Lies,” as the musician who sold the fifth-highest number of tickets worldwide this year.

In October, he completed his two-year “One Night at a Time Tour.” According to Wallen, more than 3.1 million people attended the tour over the course of the tour.

StubHub and viagogo customers purchased tickets to 38 of Wallen’s events in 2024, the ticket marketplace reported.

In the U.S., he was the fourth most-streamed artist on Spotify behind Swift, Drake and Bryan, Spotify said last week.

Coldplay, Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and U2 completed Stubhub’s ranking of the 10 most in-demand musicians of the year.
