You thought you had everything under control after the mashed potato incident on Thanksgiving. You were wrong.

Maybe you forgot an important ingredient for Christmas dinner. Or a friend (or worse, a family member) announced they wanted to drop off a gift and you didn’t give them anything. Finding a store that is open and can help you can be a hit or miss, but there are a few options.

You have to be flexible – and in many cases, be willing to go further than you want. And opening times vary from place to place, assuming you don’t live in one of the municipalities that have laws prohibiting large stores from opening on Christmas. Pro Tip: It’s always a good idea to call first.
