Friday, December 13th

Swiftmas Skate
4:00 p.m. at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina| $25+
Swiftmas Skate will feature local partnerships including Taylor Swift cookies and five premium seating areas, each with décor inspired by the albums Red, Fearless, Reputation, Lover and 1989.

Las Posadas: A Celebration in the Old Town
7:00 p.m. at Heritage County Park | Free
The 66th Annual Las Posadas offers families a unique experience showcasing centuries-old Mexican traditions along with holiday celebrations.

Poway’s Christmas in the Park
3:30 p.m. at Old Poway Park| Free
Join us at Old Poway Park for an old-fashioned holiday tradition that takes you back in time with carols, live music, a visit with Santa, free crafts for kids, model train demonstrations and more.

Christmas light display on the coast
4 p.m. at the Del Mar Fairgrounds | $23.95+
A nine-day run full of Christmas lights, ice skating, photos with Santa and more begins at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Ticket prices vary depending on the day and time.

USS Midway Jingle Jets
Now through December 23rd; 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. | USS Midway Museum | Ticket prices vary
Now in its second year, the Jingle Jets Holiday Lighting Celebration offers families the opportunity to enjoy twinkling lights, holiday music, holiday treats and more.

Tinsel & Tails: TAP’s holiday extravaganza
5:00 p.m. at BRICK in Liberty Station| Free
Admission to this family and dog-friendly event is free and open to the public. It’s a festive celebration full of holiday cheer, paws and fun.

Saturday December 14th

Chula Vista Starlight Parade and Festival
3 p.m. at Downtown Third Avenue | Free
The 60th Annual Starlight Parade and Festival takes place along Third Avenue with dazzling floats, joyful participants and activities for all ages. Photos with Santa begin at 3 p.m., the tree lighting ceremony begins at 5:45 p.m. and the parade begins at 6 p.m.

SantaCon
1 p.m. at Belmont Park| $85+
Belmont Park is transformed into a true Christmas winter wonderland.

Parade of Lights at Oceanside Harbor
7 p.m. at Oceanside Harbor | Free
Families can enjoy a fun-filled spectacle with boats of all shapes and sizes decorated with holiday attire, including lights, ornaments and holiday decorations. The best decorated boat will be awarded after the parade.

San Diego Santa Run
8 a.m., 912 Garnet Avenue | Registration required
San Diego’s most festive 5K race returns to Pacific Beach for the 12th year. 30,000 Santa Clauses have taken part in recent years. Registration is required to participate. Price starts at $59.99. Children and dogs are also welcome.

Parade of Lights in Mission Bay
5:30 p.m. in Mission Bay | Free
Begin this holiday tradition with SeaWorld’s spectacular fireworks display and enjoy the festive boat parade on the bay from designated viewing areas along the parade route.

Gaslamp Pet Parade
11 a.m. in the Gaslamp Quarter| Free
Admission to the event is free. So grab a spot on one of the terraces along the parade route and get ready for the best parade ever.

A Christmas story
2 and 7 p.m. in the Cygnet Theater| Ticket details can be found here.
Enjoy the holiday classic based on Charles Dickens’ timeless tale of hope and redemption. On this day, the theater is partnering with the Rancho Coastal Humane Society for an afternoon with puppies. You can meet and greet some four-legged friends and learn more about bringing them home for the holidays.

“A Christmas Carol” is in its tenth year at the Cygnet Theater in Old Town. Cygnet partners with the Rancho Coastal Humane Society to help find loving homes for our four-legged friends. They joined NBC News Midday.

Sunday December 15th

The Nutcracker
1 p.m. at the Civic Theater| $47.65+
Enter a world of wonder as the breathtaking scenery and exquisite costumes bring Clara’s enchanting journey with her Nutcracker Prince to life.

Noel Noel
2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Jacobs Music Center | $39+
The San Diego Symphony Orchestra’s holiday tradition, Noel Noelis back at the new Jacobs Music Center. The show will be full of holiday classics including “I’ll be Home for Christmas,” “Silent Night” and “Slight Ride.”

Parade of Lights in San Diego Bay
5:30 p.m. in San Diego Bay | Free
Last weekend, enjoy the parade with approximately 80 boats decorated with Christmas decorations and spectacular lights.

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
5 p.m. at The Old Globe | $59
Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a wonderful, whimsical musical based on the classic book by Dr. Seuss. Seuss based.

Wild Holidays at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park
Until January 5th
Lights, decorations, imaginative characters, musical entertainment, festive storytelling and culinary treats provide family fun and get everyone in the holiday spirit.

NBC 7’s Monica Dean caught up with Jonathan Gilmer, director of “Noel Noel,” which returns to Jacobs Music Center this weekend.
