Tiger Woods’ ecstatic celebration embraces son Charlie after teenager’s hole-in-one stuns golf world

Tiger Woods’ 15-year-old son Charlie stole the show on Monday when he hit his first hole-in-one in the final round of the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Club in Orlando. However, the father-son pair had to admit defeat to Bernhard Langer and his son Jason for the title.

Langer, 67, and his 24-year-old son Jason won the title for the second year in a row, and Langer was the only player to win the PNC Championship back-to-back with two sons as partners. He won twice (2005 and 2006) with Stefan, who caddied for his little brother on Sundays.

But the moment that went viral on social media was Charlie’s ace on the fourth hole that helped the Woods duo reach the playoffs against the Langers. Tiger, who scored a hole-in-one 20 times throughout his illustrious career, did not see his son hit the memorable shot. In fact, even Charlie was in disbelief when the loud roar from the stands announced that he had hit it 175 yards.

“You know what? His dad actually wasn’t watching,” one commenter said. “He had to take a second break, comes back out, hears the roar of the crowd and Charlie Woods made an ace at the PNC Championship and catapulted Team Woods to the top.”

Woods hugged his son just as tightly as he did when he won the Masters in 2019, gave him a playful shove and then reminded the high school sophomore that he had to buy everyone a round of drinks. “I’m broke,” Charlie replied.

Despite Charlie’s ace, it was the Langers who took home the title after two-time Masters champion Bernhard sank an eagle putt on the first playoff hole. The loss extended Tiger’s trophyless streak since 2019, when the 15-time major champion won the Zozo Championship.

Even after the loss, Charlie said the hole-in-one, the great final round, the playoffs, everything was the most fun he had on the golf course.

“It’s not even close,” he said.
