Tim Patrick catches two touchdowns in the Detroit Lions’ win over the Green Bay Packers

Tim Patrick has made many big catches for the Lions this season and has really solidified Detroit’s receiving corps with his size, length and toughness. The only thing he hadn’t done this year was score a touchdown. Well, he can check that off the list, too, because he got two of them in Detroit’s 34-31 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.

Patrick finished the game with six catches for 43 yards and touchdown grabs of three yards and one yard. It’s the first time Patrick has scored a touchdown since 2021 and is the second multi-touchdown game of his career.

“Gigantic. What a great addition he was,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said of Patrick after the game. “He continues to play for us in the running game and the passing game and has made great strides there.”

“Today we’re talking about catching and knife cutting. Catch, turn and run. Catch, pull, turn and run. Do whatever – if you only get a five, you have to get a six. If you can only get a seven, you gotta give us an eight, and man, I mean, he did that several times and then scored the two big touchdowns for us. He was an incredible addition, what a guy.

At 6-foot-10, with a long catch radius and great hands, he has become a reliable target that quarterback Jared Goff trusts implicitly.

“Yeah, today seemed like his day down there — certainly in the red zone,” Goff said. “He’s been so consistent since he got here in terms of unselfishness, blocking, doing everything right and not scoring a touchdown.”

“Whatever week we are – 14, 15, whatever it is – hasn’t gotten a touchdown to date and had two of them. He deserves it, man, he’s a stud and I’m so happy he’s on our team.”
