Timberwolves vs. Clippers prediction, odds and best NBA prop bets for Wednesday, December.

Timberwolves vs. Clippers prediction, odds and best NBA prop bets for Wednesday, December.

The Minnesota Timberwolves got a much-needed win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, despite a 3-13 night from Anthony Edwards.

Now the Wolves hit the road to face James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers, who are off to a great start to the 2024-25 season considering they have been without Kawhi Leonard (knee) all season have.

The Clippers played in an NBA Cup matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday and picked up a 22-point win, giving them a straight-up lead of 9-4 at home this season. Norman Powell once again led the way for the Clippers, scoring 30 points in Tuesday’s win.

Does Monday’s win serve as a springboard for the Wolves into the 2024-25 season as they struggle to start the season?

Here’s a breakdown of the odds, the best side bets and my prediction for this Western Conference battle.

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ best NBA prop bets

I’m buying little money for Julius Randle after he had a poor rebounding game – he finished Monday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers with just five boards and three assists.

Randle has grabbed 10.5 rebounds and assists in 11 of his 20 games this season, and in recent seasons his season averages have been in double figures.

While it may not seem like it this season, Jules is still averaging 6.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per night.

The best NBA prop bets on the Los Angeles Clippers

If Powell succeeds on the second night of a meeting, he will be a must-have in the prop market.

After missing some time with a hamstring injury, the sharpshooting guard has returned to the lineup and scored 28 and 30 points, respectively, in his last two games, increasing his season average to 23.9 points per game. He shoots an impressive 50.5 percent from the field and 50.7 percent from three-point range.

Powell has scored 20 or more points in 13 of his 17 games this season, making him an absolute steal with that number on Wednesday.

The Clippers didn’t fare well on the second night of back-to-back games this season, covering just two of their five attempts, but I’ll be rooting for them in this matchup.

As an underdog, Los Angeles is 5-2 at home against the team and has an impressive 9-4 record against the team at the Intuit Dome this season.

After winning by 22 on Tuesday, the Clippers may have more players available to them than we would expect for the second night in a row, as James Harden was the only player to play more than 30 minutes last night.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are just 3-6 on the road this season and are 3-5 ATS as away favorites. They have posted a -2.6 net rating on the road during the 2024-25 season, while the Clippers rank 11th in the NBA in home net rating (+5.5).

As long as Harden, Powell and Ivica Zubac are in action on Wednesday, the Clippers can pull off a surprise.

Pick: Clippers +2.5 (-108)
