Today’s live results: Navarrete vs. Valdez 2 & Espinoza vs. Robeisy II

WBO super featherweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KOs) defeated Oscar Valdez (32-3, 24 KOs) in the sixth round of their rematch at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

The much larger looking Navarrete looked burly in the midsection and dropped Valdez three times in the mismatch, knocking him down in rounds 1, 4 and 6.

Navarrete caught the 33-year-old Valdez on the ropes in the sixth round and dropped him with a left to the body. Referee Raul Caiz then counted out the injured Valdez. The stoppage occurred at 2:43 of the sixth round.

– In a surprise ending, WBO featherweight world champion Rafael Espinoza (26-0, 22 KOs) scored a surprising sixth-round TKO win over Robeisy Ramirez (14-3, 9 KOs) in their rematch. Robeisy suddenly gave up at the start of the sixth round after being defended by Espinoza with his right.

The fight was stopped after 12 seconds of the sixth round. Robeisy dominated the fight over the five rounds. Espinoza didn’t do much until Robeisy quit.

In the fourth round he hit me with a couple of elbows. I complained about it to the referee and then this happened,” Robeisy said. “I have to make a decision for my own health. I had double vision. I just couldn’t see anything with my right eye.

“I couldn’t see anything. Those were the elbows that hurt me. I had to withdraw from the fight. I am happy with my decision.”

“I landed a clean right hand. He sensed my power and knew what was coming next,” Espinoza said. “I want to be a legend and I will be a fan favorite.

The event will take place at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Valdez and Robeisy seek revenge

Of the two fights, many fans will be interested to see how well two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist Ramirez (14-2, 9 KOs) performs, as he entered a match against Espinoza (25-0, 21) as the heavy favorite. KOs) last year on December 9th.

The 1.95 meter tall Espinoza surprised Ramirez with his high performance and superior endurance. In the truest sense of the word, Ramirez couldn’t keep up with the Mexican warrior in both performance and conditioning in the final rounds.

In the main event, Valdez (33-2, 24 KOs) will have a hard time dealing with the size, power and punching power of WBO super featherweight champion Navarrete.

A year ago, Valdez was outmatched in every way, losing a 12-round unanimous decision to Navarrete by a wide margin on August 12 in Glendale, Arizona.

Oscar Valdez looks to avenge his previous loss to WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete, while Robeisy Ramirez hopes to even the score against World Boxing Organization 126-pound beltholder Rafael Espinoza in their rematch tonight live on ESPN+. These two fights are interchangeable in terms of main event status.
