Tom Hanks is not a fan of modern superhero films: “The story is what?”

The Forrest Gump and Here star wonders when Marvel and DC’s dominance will end.

German Shepherds The focus is on the characters Skwerl and Cheese, two elite paramilitary soldiers who have lost their luck who accept the task of recapturing a private jet stranded on a remote African airfield. Of course, nothing is as it seems, and when the women in her life get involved – one being a pregnant woman and the other being a dominatrix – the stakes are raised even higher. That sounds pretty good to us, because as much as we like World War II dramas, this one is set against a modern backdrop and is full of colorful characters, including an eccentric bomb technician, a deceased Amish adventurer, and a used car salesman elected to Congress. How perfect is that?

Tom Hanks hasn’t had much luck this year

While Master of the air was obviously a success for Apple TV when it comes to Hanks’ other projects he actually starred in, he didn’t have much luck. Freaky talesa Sundance favorite in January, in which he had a brief cameo as a video store clerk, has so far failed to secure a permanent distributor. Lionsgate has the distribution rights thanks to its acquisition of Entertainment One, but as far as we know There are no plans for a widespread release yet and the film could still be purchased by someone else. It’s really a bit confusing to think about, especially considering it stars Pedro Pascal and we all know how hot he is at the moment.

On the other hand there is also Herewhich had a wide release and starred Hanks alongside Robin Wright. The ambitious, non-linear drama flopped hard at the box officeearned just $13.4 million on a budget of over $50 million. Ouch. Critics and audiences criticized Robert Zemeckis’ film for being out of touch with modern audiences, and its digital anti-aging technology wasn’t exactly well received.

When you combine that with Hanks’ profanity-laced outburst on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, it’s clear that the pressure seems to be getting to him a bit. Will he be able to redeem himself in Wes Anderson’s upcoming spy comedy-drama thriller? The Phoenician Scheme? Time will tell, but for now Hanks should probably stay behind the scenesas it obviously doesn’t look like he has the same appeal as he once did.
