Tornado Warnings are in effect: Watch live coverage

Another cold front is heading our way today. It is still developing over Texas this morning. By the time it reaches MS, it will cause harsh weather in the Deep South. Confidence about how serious the threat will be is increasing. Tornadoes, hail and damaging winds are likely at dusk, but also during the overnight hours. The first round will take place in the late morning and early afternoon and the main concern will be damaging wind and hail. There will be a short break in the rain in the afternoon. Then the cold front comes. Along the river districts around 7 p.m. in the subway around 8-9am and in East MS around 10-midnight. This will be a fast-paced system. Heavy rain, strong winds and the possibility of a tornado are on the table this evening. Next Sunday the sun will return.
