Tottenham 2-2 Wolves: Jorgen Strand Larsen’s late equalizer denies Ange Postecoglou’s team win as Vitor Pereira’s impressive start at Wolves continues

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s late equalizer continued Vitor Pereira’s impressive start as Wolves manager after a chaotic Premier League draw with Tottenham.

Wolves took an early lead when the unmarked Hwang Hee-chan swept the ball deep into the corner from the edge of the penalty area after the Spurs defense had been eliminated on a free kick.

Shortly afterwards, Spurs equalized through Rodrigo Bentancur, who headed a powerful header past Jose Sa from close range following a corner from Pedro Porro.

Tottenham were awarded a penalty when Andre brought down the fleet-footed Brennan Johnson, but Sa made the right tap and Son Heung-min parried

This failed to dampen Spurs’ attacking intent and a clever switch between Dejan Kulusevski and Johnson in a crowded area culminated in the latter firing a low shot.

Tottenham had chances to extend their lead in the second half, but were unable to capitalize on them.

Dominic Solanke failed to keep out Timo Werner’s cross into the six-yard box, while Kulusevski perhaps should have done better when he broke free.

Content to stay in the fight, Wolves equalized three minutes from the end of normal time when substitute Strand Larsen beat Fraser Forster at the near post with a sharp angled shot.

Spurs increased the pressure in the 11 minutes of stoppage time but were unable to score a winner and ended December with just five points from a possible 21.

More to follow.
