TRACKING: Foggy today, then milder; Clipper odds this week | forecast

Dense fog is a problem this morning.

A dense fog warning is in effect for the entire area from mid to late morning. Visibility can be a quarter mile or less at times. Slow down and give yourself a little more time!

Today: Thanks to the low humidity, the entire area will once again experience a very dense fog morning. Luckily the temperatures and road temperatures are above freezing so there is no risk of icing, but it is wet out there. By late morning we should see most of the low clouds and fog burn off at some point, giving us a chance for some afternoon sunshine, especially south of Highway 20, otherwise some clouds could remain. Highs will rise to the upper 30s to mid 40s while westerly winds will become somewhat gusty at 10 to 20 mph, gusting as high as 30 mph.

TToight: It looks partly cloudy, with lows in the mid 20s. Winds will become lighter from the west at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Tuesday: Skies will become cloudy as a small clipper-like system approaches from the west. The exact location and track of the system is currently uncertain, but there could be a few light snow showers late Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. The possible accumulation of this looks small, less than an inch. Otherwise, highs will be in the mid to upper 30s with light and variable winds.

Wednesday: Wednesday will become partly cloudy with a brisk northwest breeze keeping highs in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Rest of the week: Clipper System #2 looks a little more promising in terms of snow potential, but it all depends on the route, which is currently uncertain. The chance of snow increases on Wednesday evening, is highest on Thursday and then decreases on Thursday evening. Clouds and a stormy northwesterly wind await us on Friday. Highs will be near freezing on Thursday then fall to the low/mid 20s on Friday.
