Troy Aikman rips NBA players after Saints defenseman’s epic flop against the Packers

ESPN didn’t benefit from a great Monday Night Football matchup in Week 16. Instead, the very good Green Bay Packers faced the very bad (but also very injured) New Orleans Saints.

So when ESPN commentators Joe Buck and Troy Aikman call a game with a two-touchdown favorite, they have the added responsibility of making the contest entertaining.

They also started with a quick joke, as Aikman didn’t seem very interested in jumping in after Buck’s introduction to the game. Buck noticed this and humorously pointed it out to him.

But a funnier moment occurred after the Packers quickly lost the field on their first drive and scored a touchdown. Quarterback Jordan Love hit a wide-open Dontayvion Wicks in the end zone while a Saints defender was on the ground nearby.

That defender, cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, He then started yelling for a pass interference flag on Wicks. The problem is that Wicks didn’t bother him. Actually, not even close. But he wanted the referees to THINK a foul had been committed.

Troy Aikman joked that McKinstry’s behavior was more like an NBA player than an NFL player.

“I’ve never seen a flop like that in the NFL,” Aikman began.

“No, not in this sport,” Buck replied.

“Christmas is just around the corner, the NBA will be on everyone’s lips,” Aikman joked. “You mastered this move.”

Nothing like football guys attacking basketball guys, amirite???

Look, Aikman has a point. One of the reasons no one wants to watch the NBA right now is the constant banter and arguments with the referees.

Surely the NBA has more problems. But flopping doesn’t help.

So let’s not bring this to the NFL, okay, guys? Thanks.
