Trump hires Liar Lake to run VOA. Until then, reality.

Objective reality had a good run here in America, but it’s largely out the window now. President-elect Donald Trump has named serial liar and sycophant on steroids Kari Lake as the next director of Voice of America, the country’s largest and oldest international broadcaster.

Lake is best known for losing the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election more times than anyone thought possible. She lost, claimed without evidence that the election was rigged, and then appealed multiple times in every state court, losing each time. It is possible that she is still in the process of losing this election, or that she finds a way to continue losing the 2024 U.S. Senate bid that she recently lost but did not concede.

This all begs the question: How will she find the time and lies necessary to make VOA the propaganda arm of the Trump administration?

Kari Lake heading to VOA? It is the exact opposite of accurate and unbiased.

According to federal statute, “VOA news will be accurate, objective and comprehensive.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAA!! Might as well throw that in the nearest Trump toilet. The next time Lake is accurate or objective, it will be the first, and putting her in charge of this American institution is like… well, it’s like putting Kari Lake in charge of VOA. There is no hypothesis that sounds more ridiculous.

And of course that’s exactly what Trump and his Republican apple cleaners want. By accepting Trump as a legitimate candidate for president, they abandoned all faith in facts and relied firmly on the power of reckless and unfettered nonsense. Once they take full control of the government in January, they will need a trumpet – perhaps a TRUMPET? – that blares: “Everything we do is right and perfect!” Propaganda.

Lake is the perfect TRUMP.

When she wasn’t having her lips attached to Trump’s tuchus, she was parroting his nonsense and making up imaginary stories about voter fraud. In her 2020 gubernatorial campaign there were all sorts of “Trump actually won!” Blah blah, she claimed that President Joe Biden didn’t get as many votes as he did when he won, she promoted crazy election conspiracy theories, she called herself “the one” in a 2023 book “rightful governor” of Arizona, and she has advocated the imprisonment of journalists.

VOA was built to counter propaganda. Now it’s MAGA’s propaganda arm.

And now — prepare to fall off your chair — Trump wants her to take charge of the journalists of a venerable news organization founded in 1942 to act as a counter to… wait for it… Nazi propaganda.

Isn’t that a kick in the boots?

Imagine the kind of pro-Trump rhetoric VOA will now spew

So what exactly can we expect from a VOA led by Lake when it reports the first time Trump botches something? Maybe a headline like: “Glorious leader Trump was unfairly criticized by the media for his brilliant actions!”

Or perhaps: “The fearless Donald Trump stuns the world with a brilliant decision that only he can understand.”

Opinion:Hey, MAGA voters: You’ve been had. Trump’s plans for the economy could ruin you.

Face it, Trump could spit on Lake’s feet and her response would be to praise his goal and praise his robust and lively expectation. He has the saliva of a man half his age!

Kari Lake and honestly are like oil and water

Lake was a longtime news anchor in Arizona before she decided to become a bad politician. But like so many in Trump’s entourage, including Trump himself, she managed to fail at the top.

And now this submissive, dishonest lackey will tragically and patheticly be America’s voice.

Well, she’ll be Trump’s vote, that’s for sure. She definitely won’t be mine.
