Two California students shot and wounded, gunman dead

Two students were injured in a shooting at a private Christian elementary school in California on Wednesday and the suspected shooter died.

Just before 2 p.m., shots were fired at Feather River Adventist School in Butte County, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office said.

The school is near Palermo, about 65 miles north of Sacramento, FOX 40 reported.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said two students were shot and taken to a hospital, one by helicopter. Authorities did not provide any information about the age or gender of the victims.

The suspected shooter, who has not been identified, is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

The students were taken to Oroville Church of the Nazarene where they will be reunited with their parents.

The school serves children ages 8 and younger and has 33 students enrolled in 2022, according to the school’s website.

The school and the sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
