Knicks and Timberwolves fans got a little football with their basketball on Thursday night.

Two fans were tackled by security for storming onto the court during the second quarter of the Knicks’ stunning 133-107 victory at Target Center.

A security guard threw one of the two fans to the ground in front of Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored a game-high 32 points and started singles in his return to the Twin Cities.

It all happened in quick succession, with 2:34 left in the second quarter, with the Knicks comfortably leading 69-45.

The fans, dressed in shorts, sleeveless tops — a bold move for December in Minnesota — and headbands, emerged from the third row and ran toward the field.

The following fan, who was wearing blue shorts, didn’t get far as an official tackled her right on the sideline.

The guard held her by her legs while she lay on the floor, and Towns ended up sticking out of her while she was on her back.

The other fan, dressed in orange, made it toward midfield and ran celebratory, pumping her hands as she made her way.

However, her journey didn’t last long and ended embarrassingly when a security guard hit her from behind and pushed her to the ground.

Two more security officers ran to the scene and two more eventually joined in before literally carrying her off the court by her arms and legs.

It is currently unknown why the fans ran onto the field.

Perhaps they were embarrassed by the Timberwolves’ pathetic play, as the home team was outscored 41-18 in the second quarter and nearly put the game away.

Fan incidents like this have occurred at Target Center before, with three Timberwolves playoff games in 2022 being marred by fans running onto the court.

One fan even taped her hands to the field.

These clashes stemmed from animal cruelty allegations against Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor.
